Problem
Broadband grant funding is complex, fragmented, and difficult to navigate, especially for ISPs and community networks working across multiple state and federal programs. The challenge was to create a resource that simplified that experience while also strengthening Ready.net’s broader ecosystem and credibility in the broadband space.
Solution
I shaped Broadband.money from the ground up through branding, UX/UI, and content structure, creating a clearer and more approachable experience for users navigating grant opportunities. The result was a focused resource hub that supported both audience trust and broader awareness of Ready.net’s platform ecosystem.
Context
Broadband grant funding is complex, time-sensitive, and often difficult to navigate for providers working across multiple state and federal programs. Broadband.money was created as a resource hub to make that process feel clearer and more manageable while also supporting Ready.net’s broader ecosystem.
As the founding designer, I helped shape the platform from the ground up through brand identity, UX/UI direction, and content-driven digital experience.
Approach
The design work started with creating a distinct identity that could feel trustworthy, useful, and closely connected to Ready.net without blending into it. I developed a visual system that balanced clarity with credibility, using a clean logo, structured typography, and accessible layouts to support a more approachable user experience.
From a product and UX perspective, the focus was on simplifying complexity. I designed flows and interface concepts that made grant discovery, application support, and educational content easier to understand and navigate. I also created visuals and dashboard concepts that helped communicate the platform’s value more clearly across marketing and product touchpoints.
Because Broadband.money also served as a bridge into Ready.net’s ecosystem, I designed the experience to introduce related tools in a way that felt intentional rather than disruptive. The goal was to make Broadband.money useful on its own while strengthening the larger system around it.
Impact
The result was a more focused and credible resource for broadband providers navigating grant opportunities. The design helped position Broadband.money as both a practical tool and a trusted source of guidance, while also reinforcing Ready.net’s presence in the space.
More broadly, the project showed how thoughtful brand and product thinking can turn a complex subject into a clearer, more useful experience. It also helped lay the groundwork for future ecosystem growth, including the evolution into Broadband.io.
