Problem

The Broadband Leaders Summit needed a brand system that felt credible, distinct, and flexible enough to support a private, high-trust event for public and industry leaders. The challenge was to create a visual identity and supporting materials that could feel polished and memorable while working across multiple event formats and touchpoints.

Solution

As the sole designer, I created a flexible event identity and a full suite of print and digital materials that gave the summit a more cohesive and recognizable presence. The result was a brand experience that balanced professionalism with personality while helping the event feel more intentional, engaging, and distinct.

Context

The Broadband Leaders Summit was designed as a more private, collaborative alternative to a traditional conference. The challenge was to create an event identity that felt credible, memorable, and flexible enough to support multiple editions of the summit while reinforcing its high-trust, relationship-driven atmosphere.

Because the event brought together state broadband directors, mayors, and industry leaders, the design needed to balance professionalism with personality and create an experience that felt distinct from more conventional industry gatherings.

Approach

I built the summit’s visual identity and event system across both print and digital touchpoints, creating a brand that could evolve across multiple locations while still feeling cohesive. That included logo development, event branding, website design, presentation materials, signage, name badges, and supporting collateral designed to shape the full attendee experience.

One of the most distinctive parts of the work was creating an atmosphere that felt more engaging and less formulaic than a typical conference. Through bolder visual references, nostalgic influences, and a more personality-driven design language, I helped give the summit a presence that felt intentional, recognizable, and memorable without losing credibility.

Because the project involved tight timelines and a wide range of deliverables, the work also required a high level of organization and adaptability. The goal was to create a system that could support multiple event editions while remaining polished and flexible enough to grow.

Impact

The result was a stronger and more recognizable event identity that helped the summit stand apart in a crowded industry space. The design supported a more engaging attendee experience and reinforced the event’s collaborative, high-trust environment across every major touchpoint.

More importantly, the project helped transform the summit into an evolving brand rather than a one-off event. What began as a new concept grew into a more established experience for broadband leaders, with the design system creating continuity, recognition, and room for future expansion.
